A school trip to Barcelona is an enriching and stimulating experience for high school students. Over thirty years now, we provided Spanish learning and homestays for young travellers and teachers visiting our city, full of life, culture and leisure, and excellently located in a top spot of the Catalan coast with exceptional weather. Interaction

Whether small or large groups, our teaching team lead dynamic lessons on practical and everyday topics to raise students' attention and keep the engagement.

Custom material

We select and adapt the class material, especially for each group, taking into account their ages, preferences and Spanish skills.

Flexibility

The lessons may take place at our centric premises or outdoors, in controlled open spaces to take advantage of the good weather of Barcelona. Always according to your preferences.

Participation

The methodology is deeply based on a communicative approach that allows the students to get steeped in both language and local culture from lesson one.

Validation

The learning programme is structured under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and observe the recommendations set by the Cervantes Institute.

Short stays (mini-séjour)

This option includes tailored lessons and activities that take place within a short period of days. The total number of class hours can be variable (from two hours onwards) and the distribution of school hours and schedule is completely flexible. The contents are prepared by our teaching team according to the references given by the group leaders. They often address practical issues of everyday use in the city, which may be helpful when visiting shops, stores, restaurants and places of interest during the stay.

Intensive course

A great investment to boost the Spanish skills from several approaches with contents adapted to each different level of learning. Allowing a quick and effective learning pace, this programme is aimed at students attending daily lessons (usually from Monday to Friday). Our native teachers ensure that time flies by leading the group through varied and engaging activities. Moreover, not only is it possible to choose a morning, afternoon or evening schedule but also to choose the number of weekly hours of the course (from 10 to 20).

Homestay accommodation

Feel at home during your school trip to Barcelona. Whether for a short period or a long stay, we provide comfortable and secure accommodation located within a few minutes from the school and the city centre. Homestay is the best approach to taste the local lifestyle, including authentic home-cooked local meals. The students may share double or triple rooms while the teachers may stay in a single room (either sharing the apartment with other teachers or with the students). All the hosts have been accurately selected and have long been trusted, by local families. Our housing includes Wi-Fi, keys, bedding and access to common areas, as well as meals under request.

Barcelona has many major places and monuments to visit which undoubtedly are main targets for your school trip. We really look forward to assisting you not only to schedule fully customizable itineraries to the major places of interest but also to take a different approach by letting you know about local feasts, emblematic spots and hidden corners full of history, culture, and life. All of it involves real contact with the heart and soul of our city! We also handle under request the logistics related to transportation (whether public or private) within Barcelona and nearby tourist towns, and the airport transfers.

Really loved my classes here. Their flexibility with students and their sometimes... changing schedules (due to work, school or travel) is the reason I chose them in the first place. But the quality of teaching is why I continued taking classes. Because of the small groups of students per class the teachers can give plenty of attention to every individual. 5 stars-at least!From the prompt and complete response to my inquiries, the scheduling... of my placement interview, and the flexible pricing, and scheduling options, the staff at METROCULTURA provided professional support throughout my two months in Barcelona. As a total beginner I looked for options on class size and felt individual 1 on 1 would serve me best. I was fortunate enough to work directly with Nico for almost every one of my 24 hours — spread out over my entire stay. (And thanks also to Paula!) Days and times were entirely up to me which gave me flexibility to travel. I have nothing but good words to say about this school. I waited for this review couple... of weeks until I'm absolutely sure and truely I think it's best language school I've ever had (I studied German in Germany, French in Belgium and France, and now it's 3rd Spanish school in Barcelona). Firstly, the staff is absolutely amazing. V E R Y friendly, and professional. I feel they're there to actually teach Spanish while other schools for me felt like they're there to make social events. Secondly, the material is customized and prepared by the team (printed in nice mini-books haha) Thirdly, free coffee haha ... I just love that as I come for evening classes just right after work and wouldn't mind a nice shot of caffeine : DFourth, I don't know the prices of all schools in town, but among those I tried (2 other schools) it was the cheapest and best value for the money considering the amount of hours and the material i'm learning!! If any of my friends in town is reading this, I highly recommend this school with no single doubt ... and for the team at metrocultura thanks a lot! :)))read more
